Dangerous operation of a vehicle, UUMV at Beenleigh

Five people have been charged after numerous stolen vehicles were used in a series of driving offences yesterday.

Police observed two allegedly stolen cars, a white Audi sedan and a white Hyundai hatch, travelling along Logan River Road in Beenleigh around 10am yesterday morning.

A tyre deflation device (TDD) was deployed on the Audi on Castille Crescent. As the car was coming to a stop the Hyundai pulled up alongside the Audi and picked up the driver, before driving off at speed.

Polair then monitored the Hyundai as it drove dangerously and at high speed on the Pacific Motorway (M1).

Around 11.30am the car exited the M1 and entered a shopping centre car park in Loganholme.

It will be alleged three people then got out of the Hyundai and were picked up by a third vehicle, a blue Holden sedan.

An occupant who was in the Hyundai, a 23-year-old Bundamba woman, was located in the car park a short time later and taken into custody. A 34-year-old Marsden man was taken in to custody attempting to get in to the Holden sedan.

Around midday the Holden was observed driving along Second Avenue, Berrinba. Shortly after the car pulled over and two offenders were seen getting into a fourth car, a Ford sedan, which was not stolen.

Police then tracked the car before a successful TDD was deployed on Service Road around 12.30pm. A short time later the car came to a stop on the M1. A 29-year-old Wynnum man, 23-year-old Beenleigh man and 33-year-old Marsden man were taken into custody after trying to flee the scene on foot.
