Police will prepare a report of the coroner after the body of a person was located in Echuca on Thursday, 15 February.
The man was located deceased inside a vehicle, which had been a blaze, on Ogilvy Street about 4.20am.
Police are yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the death but it is not believed to be suspicious.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
It’s believed the same man was in custody on Wednesday 14 February after he provided an alleged positive evidentiary breath test.
The investigation will be oversighted by Professional Standards Command, which is standard procedure following a death after recent police contact.
