The City of Perth Deputy Lord Mayor Sandy Anghie was elected at this morning’s Special Council Meeting, the first Council Meeting of the newly elected members.
Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said that last night’s Swearing-In Ceremony and this morning’s election of the Deputy Lord Mayor marks the beginning of a new chapter for the City of Perth.
“Congratulations to Deputy Lord Mayor Sandy Anghie and my new colleagues on Council, who are professional, committed people with plenty of energy and enthusiasm. We have an opportunity to provide strong leadership for our great city.
“I know we will have a productive time together working with our CEO and the entire City Administration to ensure a vibrant, connected and progressive Perth,” Mr Zempilas said.
