Detectives hoping to shine light on Wantirna South theft

Police are investigating the theft of credit cards and subsequent use in the Scoresby area this month.

Investigators have been told an unknown male has attended Sommerset Street in Wantirna South on 11 January.

He approached a parked vehicle and stole a purse and a large quantity of lighting goods worth around $4000.

The male has then attended three different stores in the Scoresby area around 4pm, using the victims stolen credit card to purchase alcohol and cigarettes.

Investigators have released an image of a male they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is described as having a slim build with short dark brown hair, a tattoo on the inside of his left arm and was wearing a blue Tommy Hilfiger t-shirt, black shorts and black and white Nike sneakers.
