Diamond Beach car park ready for summer

MidCoast Council

Access to Diamond Beach is now easier and safer, with several improvements to the car park, footpath and new shower and picnic amenities.

Work on the main beach access car park, corner of Jubilee Parade and Diamond Drive, was finished on 14 December and includes a number of improvements.

Car park spaces are now clearly marked and include a disabled parking spot. A concrete path will help beach goers with a disability get on and off the beach more easily, and will also make leaving the beach in an emergency safer for all.

Adding to the convenience is a new shower block and picnic table, providing a welcome after-swim rest stop.

“These improvements will make using Diamond Beach a more pleasant experience for the entire community,” said Council’s Executive Manager Community Spaces, Daniel Aldridge.

The work was funded through proceeds from 4WD beach permits and completed by a combination of Council contractors and staff. The next beach access improvement project will be at Wallabi Point. Work is due to start there in February 2022.
