Dig deep this Chrissy

Christmas Bauble

The time for giving is upon us and as Santa comes down your chimney to leave you a special gift, we want to help spread some joy to those less fortunate with Council’s Christmas Giving Appeal.

The annual appeal calls on residents to support local charities, with Council this year supporting Blue Wren House Camden Women’s Shelter and Shining Stars Foundation.

Blue Wren House Camden Women’s Shelter Inc provides safe, supported accommodation for five women and their children who are escaping domestic and family violence or are homeless.

Shining Stars Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation that focuses on the less fortunate, homelessness and disabilities, running outreach and community participation programs across Macarthur and Liverpool areas.

“Christmas is the time of giving and there is no better way than to help someone who is truly in need,” a Council spokesperson said.

“This year Council is supporting two fantastic not-for-profit organisations who make a major difference to the community.

“Any amount donated will go a long way to helping those who these two fantastic organisations support, so dig deep and help in any way you can.”

A Camden Chrissy has taken over the local area recently with the community Christmas trees in Camden and Oran Park now lit every evening.

Residents are also reminded to have some fun and take their photos in front of the Christmas Bauble on the corner of Argyle and John Streets in Camden. Don’t forget to post your photo on social media using the hashtag #acamdenchrissy.
