Discover More About History At Library Events In March

History talks March - imageHawkesbury Library Service will host several history related events during March and anyone who wants to learn more about history is invited to attend.

Join a family history session titled ‘Boring to Brilliant!’ and learn how to enhance your family history and take it to the next level with Local History Librarian, Michelle Nichols. This session will be held on Tuesday, 12 March 6pm to 7pm and is delivered online via Zoom. Bookings are essential and cost $5, book via Eventbrite https://hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com

On Wednesday, 13 March, local historian Elizabeth Roberts, will be the guest speaker at the Hawkesbury Family History Group meeting. She will discuss the historic Great North Road. Discover the history of this a significant road that was built between Sydney and the Hunter Valley. It was an extraordinary engineering feat of the early nineteenth century. Find what life was like for the men working and building the road that linked the Hawkesbury with the north.

The talk will start at 10am with morning tea served at 11am. It is free and open to all. If you attend, in person, there is no need to book. If you are unable to be present, you can attend via Zoom but it is essential to book via Eventbrite https://hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com
