A disqualified driver has been charged after a crash in Liverpool this morning.
About 6.45am (Saturday 6 July 2019), emergency services were called to Newbridge Road, Liverpool after reports of a crash.
Police have been told a white Holden Rodeo utility collided with a Toyota Hiace while travelling east across Newbridge Bridge, before leaving the road, crashing through a fence, and into a tree down an embankment.
The driver of the Holden – a 22-year-old man – was taken to Liverpool Hospital to be treated for minor injuries and mandatory testing.
His passenger – a 21-year-old man – was taken to Liverpool Hospital after sustaining lacerations to his hand, and one of his teeth being knocked out.
No one else was injured.
The driver was later taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm) – 1st offence, negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period – 1st offence.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday 7 July 2019.
