Do good for your community – register your venue to be a Chatty Café

More people than ever are struggling with social isolation and loneliness, even in the busiest of places. Chatty Café is a global movement to bring people together to reduce loneliness, social isolation and build connections within the local community.

Current supporting venues, like cafes and community facilities, provide a Chatty Table where customers, with the support of volunteers, can come together, grab a coffee, a bite to eat, have a chat and connect.

This year, Chatty Café Australia in partnership with the inner south-eastern councils of Bayside, Boroondara, Glen Eira and Stonnington, and with support from the State Government, is rolling out a campaign and a series of fun Chatty Café events and is looking for businesses, cafes and restaurants to get on board.

Chatty Café venues receive support, promotion, volunteers and resources, so it is easy to get started and run regular Chatty Tables.

You can choose which table you designate and what time it is available for the Chatty Café sessions – a great way to bring more customers in, especially during quiet periods.

Chatty Café sessions can be as little as an hour a week on a chosen day or as long, or as often as you like! It is a safe, inclusive space for everyone in the community – whether they live alone or work from home, are a young person, new parent or a grandparent, or are new to the local area – everyone is welcome.
