A woman will face court today charged after weapons, prohibited drugs, and stolen medical supplies were seized from a home in Sydney’s west.
On Tuesday 24 April 2018, a specialist doctor’s surgery on Hawkesbury Road, Westmead, was broken into and medical supplies were stolen.
The incident was reported to local police before officers from Police Transport and Public Safety Command commenced an investigation.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators, with assistance from specialist tactical officers, executed a search warrant at an apartment complex in Noller Parade, Parramatta about 8.15am yesterday (Thursday 13 February 2020).
During a search of the property, officers located prescribed restricted substances, prohibited
drugs, electronic devices, alleged falsified prescriptions, personal identification believed to have been stolen, an axe, a knife, a sickle, and bicycles and a cash register which are alleged to have been stolen.
These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
A 48-year-old woman was arrested at the property and taken to Granville Police Station, where she was charged with possess forged prescription, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, two counts of possess prescribed restricted substance, and deal with proceeds of crime.
Police will allege in court that the woman forged prescriptions to gain access to prescribed restricted substances between May 2019 and February 2020.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 14 February 2020).
Investigations are continuing.
