Driver charged after pedestrian seriously injured – Dubbo

A man has been charged after a pedestrian was hit in the state’s west yesterday.

About 8am yesterday (Saturday 6 September 2025), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were called Bourke Street, Dubbo, following reports of a crash.

Police were told a car crashed into another a vehicle before continuing into a fence and colliding with a pedestrian who was standing on the footpath.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated an 87-year-old man – who was found laying on the roadway when emergency services arrived.

He suffered serious hand and internal injuries.

Paramedics also treated an 85-year-old woman for a head injury.

They were both taken to Dubbo Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver – a 37-year-old man – was arrested and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Following inquiries, yesterday evening (Saturday 6 September 2025), the man was charged with dangerous driving occasions grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous and negligent driving occasions grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 7 September 2025).
