Evade police, dangerous driving – Deception Bay

Police are investigating after a man allegedly drove dangerously through Deception Bay overnight.

At 3.30am, police noticed a man exit a vehicle on Quarry Road before he entered a stolen BMW X3 and to drove it to the rear of the property.

As it was exiting the driveway of the property, police deployed a tyre-deflation-device however the vehicle allegedly continued onto King Street where attempts were made to intercept it.

The vehicle evaded police and continued to drive dangerously at high speeds past the Caboolture Police Station before a second tyre-deflation-device was deployed.

The vehicle again evaded police and approached the intersection of Morayfield Road where it proceeded to travel down the wrong side of the road towards the roundabout on Uhlman Road before speeding over the Bruce Highway overpass.

At this point the driver began throwing glass bottles out the window and towards police before it lost control and crashed into a barrier.

The man was then removed from the vehicle and arrested when he spat on two police officers.

While being transported to the Pine Rivers Watchhouse, the 27-year-old man began kicking out the rear right window of the police vehicle.

On arrival at the watchhouse, the man became unconscious.

He was transported to the Prince Charles Hospital where he remains under police guard.

Investigations are ongoing.
