Expanding innovation: New DVPC joins RMIT

Professor Martie-Louise Verreynne will take up the role of Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation in the College of Business.

Professor Martie-Louise Verreynne has been appointment as the new Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation in the College of Business.

A renowned academic leader with a strong industry perspective, Verreynne comes to the role with a remit to strengthen connections between the College of Business and the University’s innovation and entrepreneurship offerings through its Activator start-up hub.

Her appointment sees the College of Business leadership team move to an unprecedented 8 female executives in a team of 12.

Verreynne has outstanding track record of working with industry to create quality research impact and has received several awards in recognition of this work.

In her current role as a Professor in Innovation and Deputy Head of the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School, her research in innovation, particularly open innovation, focuses on how small firms leverage capabilities and networks to gain a competitive edge.
