Fake gun, drugs seized in Haymarket

A man has been charged, and a fake gun and drugs seized, after he was stopped by police at Central Railway Station earlier today.

About 7am (Thursday 11 June 2020), officers attached to Police Transport Command stopped a 25-year-old man because he was allegedly smoking inside the station.

When the man was searched, officers allegedly located a silver ‘BB’ type gun which had been spray-painted silver, as well as methylamphetamine.

He was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he has been charged with supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable, less than commercial quantity), and possess unauthorised pistol.

He was refused bail and faced Central Local Court today, where he was formally bail refused to re-appear at the same court on Wednesday 24 June 2020.
