Fiona Leatham joins Hornsby Shire Council

Hornsby Shire Council is thrilled to announce a new appointment to Council’s Executive Team. Fiona Leatham joins us as Director, Infrastructure & Major Projects.

Ms Leatham is an accomplished leader with an impressive track record and has a wealth of experience after spending more than 15 years at the City of Newcastle.

As the Director, Infrastructure & Major Projects, Ms Leatham will be pivotal in unifying all infrastructure planning, design, delivery and maintenance functions across Council.

“I feel privileged to join such a collaborative, respectful and passionate team. I am very excited about the importance that Hornsby Shire Council places on investment into our community facilities,” she said.

“We will be delivering for our community through a variety of public domain improvements, road and asset operations and maintenance, our significant capital works program, and the fantastic major projects that are underway.”

Ms Leatham will spearhead a range of initiatives including:

  • Driving the delivery of high-profile projects, Hornsby Park and Westleigh Park, which will offer outstanding recreational facilities for the community.
  • Overseeing the transformation of streetscapes to ensure vitality of our suburban villages and helping to deliver a safe and efficient transport network for residents, which includes our 650kms of roads.
  • Developing our design and construction team to ensure all assets are of the standard the community deserves, including the aquatic and leisure facilities at Hornsby, Thornleigh and Galston.
  • Leading our response to emergencies and as an advocate of Council, forming and building relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally to deliver for our community.

“I am confident that with Fiona’s guidance, working with her fellow Directors and staff, we will continue to build a Shire that will cater for the changing needs of our community, creating a resilient population with adequate housing, amenities and infrastructure.”
