Five year strategy for health released

The Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN) has today released a strategy and vision for community health services over the next five years.

FUNLHN Governing Board Chair, Bevan Francis, said FUNLHN consulted with a range of communities, stakeholders,consumers and clinicians through workshops and focus groups to develop the 2021-26 strategicplan.

“We are pleased to announce the completion of the strategic plan for the Flinders and Upper North regionand launch our new branding, which reflects the unique characteristics of ourregion,” Mr Francis said.

“The strategic plan focuses on growing our local health services and outlines key strategies that reflect ourcommitment to continue delivering high quality health services to ourcommunities.

“Our new branding is an exciting change for our region as it represents our individual Local Health Network and showcases our diverse network of regional health services we provide to communities across the Flinders and Upper North.

“We would like to thank local members of the community for engaging in the consultation process, providingvaluable feedback and sharing their health values and priorities about futurehealth services.”

FUNLHN Chief Executive Officer, Craig Packard, said the plan identifies a range of strategies that will helpstrengthen the delivery of health services provided to local communities acrossthe region.

“We know it is important for people to access the health care they need, and this plan will help ensure wecan continue to deliver high quality health services to communities, both nowand into the future,” Mr Packardsaid.

“Throughout the consultation process, it has been our priority to work together with community members toensure the plan is tailored to meet the needs of the local community.

“Some of the key strategies outlined in the plan include building a sustainable workforce, strengthening ourAboriginal Health services, expanding training opportunities and exploring moreinnovative approachesto the delivery of our services.

“This is an important milestone for our Local Health Network and we are excited to roll out the new FUNLHNbranding, which will help people identify the range of health services weprovide to the community.”
