Please be advised that due to the current flood event across the Shire, it is anticipated that water will cross the Pooncarie Road approximately 3.75km from Wentworth just before the Wentworth Landfill entrance. On current BOM predictions it is estimated that this will occur in the next two weeks. When the water crosses the road vehicles travelling the Pooncarie Road from north of the Wentworth Landfill, to gain access to Wentworth, Dareton or Buronga, should do so via Fletchers Lake Road.
This will be via Fletchers Lake Rd and Silver City Hwy (Click here to view ).
Residents living between the Wentworth Landfill and Fletchers Lake Road are advised this section of road may be cut in several places and residents may be isolated. Exit strategies to towns and services should be planned.
The Wentworth Landfill will be closed and residents are encouraged to use the Dareton Transfer Station or Buronga Landfill.
