Four teenagers charged with property offences, Gold Coast, Logan, South Brisbane, Sunshine Coast

Detectives have charged four teenagers with multiple property and vehicle offences committed overnight between 11 and 12 June.

It is alleged a series of property crime offences were carried out across the Gold Coast, South Brisbane and Sunshine Coast, allegedly involving a group of teenagers armed with machetes.

The group are alleged to have gained entry into 11 properties where they stole a number of personal items, as well as a Toyota Landcruiser from an Alexandra Headland address, a Hyundai Santa Fe from Calamvale address and a Lexus CH200 from a Runcorn address.

The stolen Lexus was later found abandoned on 12 June in Yarrabilba.

Police located the group around 11.45pm on 12 June travelling in convoy in the stolen Toyota and Hyundai on the Sunshine Motorway in Sippy Downs.

The Toyota was brought to a stop after officers successfully deployed a tyre deflation device.

The occupants of the vehicle are then alleged to have entered the Hyundai and left the scene but were stopped a short time later when officers deployed a second tyre deflation device at around 11.50pm.

Three teenage boys allegedly fled the scene but were taken into custody nearby.

A fourth teenager was arrested on the evening of 13 June when officers executed a search warrant at a Yarrabilba address.

A 15-year-old Yarrabilba boy has been charged with multiple offences including seven counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent, five counts of enter premises and commit, four counts of attempted enter premises with intent, three counts each of enter dwelling and commit and unlawful use of motor vehicle, two counts each of wilful damage and one count each of stealing, dangerous operation of vehicle and armed robbery.

He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Childrens Court on 15 June.

A 14-year-old Durack boy was charged with multiple offences including seven counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent by break at night, two counts each of enter dwelling and commit, robbery armed and unlawful use of motor vehicle, one count each of enter dwelling with intent, stealing, wilful damage and dangerous operation of motor vehicle.

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Maroochydore Childrens Court on 17 June.

A 15-year-old Coomera boy has been charged with multiple offences including two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles and one count of face masked, blackened or disguised with intent to commit

He is scheduled to appear at the Maroochydore Childrens Court on 17 June.

A 17-year-old Boronia Heights boy has been charged multiple offences including with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles and one count of face masked, blackened or disguised with intent to commit.

He is scheduled to appear at the Maroochydore Childrens Court on 17 June.

Operation Yankee Forge is a six-month, district-led, statewide initiative targeting high-harm and high-volume offences, including unlawful use of motor vehicles, unlawful entry and robbery.

The operation will enhance policing activities across Queensland to reduce victim numbers and strengthen community safety.

Police regions, supported by specialist squads, will undertake coordinated disruption activities across the state. Police will target high-harm offenders and work closely with partner agencies to ensure offenders are held accountable. With a strong focus on crime prevention, police will be highly visible as they prevent, disrupt and investigate offending, with particular emphasis on unlawful use, robbery and unlawful entry.

The operation will be locally led and centrally coordinated, leveraging the knowledge and experience of officers who know their communities best.
