Four teens charged after police vehicle rammed by stolen car in Footscray

Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged four teenagers in stolen vehicles in Footscray overnight.

Police spotted the allegedly stolen Audi and Kia sedan parked in Mills Close, Footscray just after 8.30pm on 30 July.

When officers attempted to intercept the vehicles, the Audi allegedly rammed police while attempting to flee.

The Kia and Audi failed to stop and took off towards Ballarat Road.

Detectives were notified of a collision involving the Kia on Speakmen Street, Kensington about 9pm.

Witnesses of the collision contacted police after four occupants fled the Kia and took off in a ride share vehicle.

Police Air Wing responded and tracked the car to Ballarat Road, Footscray where four occupants were arrested by officers.

A 16- year-old girl from Clyde was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A 15-year-old Brookfield girl and 16-year-old girl Melton West girl were also charged with theft of a motor vehicle and will appear at a children’s court today.

An 18-year-old woman was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

It’s alleged a Kia and Audi sedan were stolen outside a gym on Hummingbird Boulevard, Tarneit about 6pm on 30 July.
