Fourth person charged over manufacture and supply of ‘ice’, NSW

Penrith Region Enforcement Squad (RES) detectives have charged a fourth person following an investigation into the large-scale manufacture and supply of methylamphetamine across the state.

In January 2020, detectives from Penrith RES established Strike Force Monfarville to investigate the importation, supply and manufacture of methylamphetamine (ice) across NSW.

Following extensive inquires, police uncovered and dismantled a clandestine laboratory at a unit at Ultimo in June this year.

Further equipment consistent with the manufacture of prohibited drugs was also located at a home at Werrington and storage facility at Rydalmere.

During the operation, strike force investigators arrested a 23-year-old woman and two men – aged 29 and 31. All three were charged and remain before the courts.

As part of ongoing inquiries, a 34-year-old man was arrested during a vehicle stop at Fairford Road, Padstow, about 11.15am on Saturday (12 September 2020).

The Punchbowl man was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with manufacture prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

He appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday (13 September 2020), where he was formally refused bail to reappear at Penrith Local Court today (Tuesday 15 September 2020).

Investigations under Strike Force Monfarville are continuing.
