Free RAT handout at Perth Royal Show

  • Free Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) available for Western Australians at the show
  • Attendees encouraged to pick up their free RATs at Gates 1 and 10, and at the Showground train station gate
  • Further supports WA households to easily detect COVID-19 and meet daily testing requirements if determined to be a close contact
  • WA continues to lead the nation in providing free RATs to the community
  • Western Australians will be able to collect free Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) at this year’s Perth Royal Show, which runs from 24 September until 1 October.

Up to four million free RATs will be made available for collection from Gates 1 and 10 at the Claremont Showgrounds, along with the Showground train station gate over the 8-day event.

As part of the WA Free RAT Program, these free RATs provide a convenient and easy COVID-19 testing option, and help to ease cost of living pressures.

The program continues to lead the nation as the most comprehensive of its kind in the country.

Since February 2022, more than 50 million free RATs have been provided to the community and public sector through metropolitan vaccination clinics and drive-throughs, regional testing clinics, schools, and pop-ups across the State.

Households remain eligible to collect free RATs from designated collection points, while also having access to them through community service organisations and Members of Parliament.

As stated by Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:

“As one of Western Australia’s most popular events, the Perth Royal Show provides the perfect opportunity to help ensure households have the supply of RATs they need.

“Thousands of Western Australians attend this iconic event every year, and I encourage everyone who attends to collect some free RATs – there’ll be plenty of space to store them in your showbag.

“At last year’s Perth Royal Show, we encouraged attendees to roll up their sleeves at the Claremont Showgrounds vaccination clinic – which helped us reach outstanding vaccination rates.”
