The Albanese Labor Government is continuing to support live music venues, artists and festivals with a further $12.5 million for Revive Live in 2026-27.
On Monday, 3 August 202, grants open to live music festivals and established live music venues for activities commencing on or after 1 December 2026 to support performance opportunities and foster original contemporary music by Australian artists.
This investment will provide ongoing vital support to the live music sector and stimulate long term sustainability for the industry.
The Government has already delivered $19.3 million in Revive Live funding to 221 live music businesses, including 121 music festival-based activities and 100 live music venues.
Revive Live also has a focus on activities that improve accessibility and provide participation opportunities for audiences, as well as career pathways for musicians and music workers with disability.
Previous Revive Live recipients have included:
- $143,008 – Metro Theatre Sydney: Funding towards original Australian Artist fees, and equipment upgrade.
- $65,000 – Country Music Club of Boyup Brook WA: A weekend packed with live music, community spirit, and country charm. Funding towards equipment and production costs.
- $150,000 – Woodford Folk Festival 2025 – Funding for original Australian artist fees, production and accessibility costs.
Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke, said the Government was committed to providing vital, ongoing support for Australian live music.
“Australians love music. We all remember going to our first live gig. Live music has always been a huge part of my life.
“We know the industry is under pressure. The Government established Revive Live because we want Australians to be able to enjoy festivals and local gigs and we want artists to be able to make a career out of their music.
