Funding Pledge for Princes Highway Welcomed

Shoalhaven City Council welcomes the funding pledge from NSW Liberals and Nationals for $960 Million towards Princes Highway upgrades pledged on Wednesday, 6 March.

Shoalhaven City Council General Manager Russ Pigg said the funding if delivered will improve the travel time and safety for motorists using the highway south of the Jervis Bay intersection.

“The Princes Highway is a vital corridor for residents and visitors to the Shoalhaven and any investment from State or Federal Government is welcomed,” Mr Pigg said.

“The pledge to redesign and construct the Princes Highway will not only save lives but potentially slash travelling times throughout the Shoalhaven.

“Improvement of safety at Jervis Bay Road, St Georges Basin, Lake Conjola and East Nowra Sub Arterial Road are all connecters to the Princes Highway and all projects Shoalhaven City Council will like to see and we support any funding allocations to the region.”

Council will continue to press the Federal Government for funding support to upgrades of the Princes Highway.
