Detectives have charged a further two men today as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs across the Sydney metropolitan area.
Strike Force Polar was established in July this year to target the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs within the Bankstown Police Area Command.
A man, aged 25, was arrested yesterday (Thursday 15 October 2020), at a home in Abel Street, Greenacre and charged with multiple offence including commercial quantity drug supply. He remains before the court.
A second man was also arrested after the vehicle he was getting into was searched, and drugs were found. He was later release pending further inquiries.
Just after 1pm today (Friday 16 October 2020), Strike Force Polar investigators attended a unit on Weigand Avenue, Bankstown, where they arrested two men – aged 22 and 26.
They were taken to Bankstown Police Station, where the younger man was charged with 10 offences;
- Five counts of supply prohibited drug
- Supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis
- Three counts of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
The older man was charged with supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supply prohibited drug, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 17 October 2020).
