Further works underway to increase car parking at the North West Regional Hospital

Guy Barnett, Minister for Health

Works to deliver more car parking spaces at the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie are underway.

Ten additional car parks will be created at the gravel car park off Uplands Place.

Minister for Health, Guy Barnett, said this is in addition to the 24 parking spaces the Rockliff Liberal Government recently delivered at the hospital.

“We know how important it is for patients and visitors to be able to access the hospital in a timely and convenient manner,” Minister Barnett said.

“Surveying is also underway to determine if further parking spaces can be created.”

The Draft North West Hospitals Masterplan, which is a long-term strategic vision for hospital infrastructure in the north west, includes a substantial allocation to carparking across the site.

“Future plans for parking improvements at the North West Regional Hospital will be confirmed in the Final North West Hospitals Masterplan,” Minister Barnett said.

The carpark off Uplands Place will be partially closed for preliminary works, with further works occurring on weekends to minimise disruptions to hospital parking.

Extra car parks are expected to be available by January.
