Get your act together for 2020 Northern Fringe Festival

Registrations are now open for the 2020 Northern Fringe Festival.

Townsville City Council is calling on all artists, performers, entertainers and venues to get their act together and sign up for the highlight of the 2020 arts calendar.

Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said the support of this year’s inaugural Northern Fringe Festival blew all expectations out of the water.

“The response from the community was just phenomenal. Venues were packed out with locals and visitors wanting to get in on the action,” Cr Hill said.

“Townsville is the arts hub of Northern Australia, and this is an inclusive and open-access festival that’s made by the people who live here.

“Now we’re calling for an even bigger and better event in 2020, and we’re inviting our friends who live here, as well as creatives from interstate and overseas, to register.”

Cr Hill said local venue owners should also remember to register.

“Venues from across Townsville can take part in the 2020 Northern Fringe Festival. As this is a festival, a venue can mean anything from pubs and clubs to sheds and laneways,” she said.

“We want to support our local venues from across Townsville, so registering a venue with the 2020 Northern Fringe Festival is free.

“There are also presenting partnerships available for the festival.”

Registrations for the 2020 Northern Fringe Festival close on 29 February 2020.
