The 2020 Training and Work Pathways Program which helps assist Tasmanians experiencing disadvantage into work or training is now open for applications.
The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is committed to ensuring Tasmania has the skilled workforce it needs to support our growing economy.
This initiative will see a further $1.95 million in grants available to support projects that will improve the skills, employment opportunities and social inclusion of disadvantaged Tasmanians.
The Training and Work Pathways Program continues to help those who face difficulties in gaining new skills and finding a job that is right for them.
The program specifically aims to support jobseekers who face social or financial hardship, disability, language or cultural barriers, or other difficulties in finding and keeping a job, as well as those who have experienced long-term and cross-generational unemployment.
This round will take total funding provided through the program to more than $11.1 million since commencing in 2015, with 95 projects already supported during that time.
Getting more Tasmanians into jobs with the right skills where they are needed is a key part of growing our economy and the Government is committed to ensuring that disadvantaged Tasmanians are not left behind.
