Getting the Territory working: New apprentices begin training with Power and Water

The Territory Labor Government is continuing to get young tradies work ready with 11 new apprentices beginning their careers with Power and Water.

The cohort of apprentices have started their four-year nationally accredited apprenticeship program through the GTNT Group.

Commencing this apprenticeship program in January, these apprentices are now learning specialised skills and training in electrical, mechanical and linework fields in Power and Water’s Power Services division.

The program helps to ensure we have trained and skilled workers in critical industries for the Territory well into the future.

The Territory Labor Government has provided an opportunity for 39 Power and Water apprentices to enter the workforce since 2016.

Power and Water have also employed seven graduates who have a begun a two-year placement opportunity across a range of Power and Water business areas including Water Services, Power Services, Core Operations and People and Culture.
