Spring has arrived in Boorloo, and the City of Perth’s Parks and Environment team has been busy bringing colour, texture and floral flair to parks, gardens, streets and public spaces across the city.
With more than 10,000 plants sourced from local nurseries, alongside unique flora from Kings Park and Botanic Garden through the City’s ongoing collaboration, there’s plenty to discover as the city bursts into bloom.
We spoke with Parks and Environment Technical Officer Cheyne Pearce about the team’s seasonal plantings, the thinking behind some of their favourite displays and the best spots to experience spring in Boorloo.
Here’s what Cheyne had to say about some of his favourite spots to see spring blooms across the City:
1. Stirling Gardens
“The historic main entrance into Stirling Gardens is a riot of colour and a window into the oldest park in Western Australia.
“Passersby are stopped in their tracks by the mega diverse, meticulously curated gardens and drawn into this true inner-city gem.”
