Government must commit to releasing the Revised Estimates Report 13 February 2024

Tas Labor

With so much talk of an early election, the Liberal Minority Government must release the State Budget’s Revised Estimates Report (RER).

The government is legislatively required to release this report by tomorrow but they may have forgotten about it due to their paralysis and turmoil.

If we’re going to the polls, Tasmanians deserve to know if the Liberals have allocated the $300 million savings across the portfolios as announced in the budget and where the cuts have come from.

Have they cut the health budget, have they cut education and training and housing?

Are the outcomes announced in the budget going to be achieved or are there more cuts on the way?

After 10 years in office, the Liberal government has wrecked Tasmania’s budget so much so that we’re now $5.6 billion in debt.

With all their turmoil and focus on themselves, there can be little confidence they will get the budget back on track.
