Greens put Bob before renewable jobs

Tasmanian Labor
  • Greens back Bob Brown’s anti-renewables stance
  • McKim, Whish-Wilson join O’Connor, Abbott and Abetz
  • Tasmanian Greens fail to stand up for renewable jobs
  • Greens Senators Nick McKim and Peter Whish-Wilson have joined the Greens-Liberal alliance against the Robbins Island wind farm.

Labor Member for Braddon Shane Broad said it was outrageous that the Federal and Tasmanian Greens have chosen to back whatever Bob Brown says over renewable jobs and Tasmania’s clean energy future.

“The Greens Senators must have got the call to prioritise Bob before jobs,” Dr Broad said.

“For years the Greens have been begging for renewables but just like their position on the tourism industry and plantation forestry, they’ve suddenly decided to change their tune.

“It’s just mind-blowing to hear the Greens talk about following a development process.

“The Greens have zero credibility and the Tasmanian community knows it.

“Tasmanian Greens Leader Cassy O’Connor should come out today and tell her federal colleagues and Dr Brown that they are wrong.”
