Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who died in Wollongong last week.
About 12.15pm last Thursday (7 July 2022), emergency services were called to Stuart Park, Wollongong, after reports of a concern for welfare.
Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated a man who is believed to have suffered a medical episode while riding a bicycle.
Despite their efforts, the man died at the scene.
Since then, inquiries have failed to identify the man as he wasn’t carrying any identification, and no one matching his description has been reported missing.
While the death is not considered suspicious, police are appealing for public assistance to identify him and find his family.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 170 – 175cm tall, believed to be in his late 60s, with short grey hair. At the time he was wearing a beige coloured baseball cap labelled NSW CHS, with a bulldog clip on the back, dark blue board shorts and a black windbreak puffer jacket.
Police have also released an image of a bicycle; they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
