The Tasmanian Liberal Government is providing $75,000 to support Impact Communities to continue to deliver their Troublesmiths Targeted Jobs program in 2020-21.
Troublesmiths is a unique social enterprise-based work experience, coaching and job placement program, focused on assisting Tasmanians aged 15 to 24 into long-term employment.
Today marks the start of a new intake of participants commencing the eight-week Troublesmiths program, which provides valuable training and skills.
Participants will undertake work experience producing handmade products, such as candles, soaps and other beauty products, which they sell to the public through the onsite retail shop.
They have access to coaching to break through self-identified barriers to reach their goals.
Through Strategic Growth, the Tasmanian Government has supported social enterprises to deliver innovative and bespoke programs to address barriers to employment.
Some Tasmanians need additional support to access opportunities and to gain the skills and training to secure employment and to participate in their communities.
Strategic growth projects improve access to opportunities in areas of disadvantage and will help build more resilient communities into the future.
The Tasmanian Government has supported Troublesmiths since last year, helping young Tasmanians into employment, training, increasing employability skills and addressing barriers, particularly mental health, to enter the workforce.
