Police are appealing for public assistance as part of an investigation into a hit-and-run traffic incident in Buderim this afternoon, 19 June.
Initial investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) indicate around 5.34pm, a vehicle travelling east along Townsend Road struck a pedestrian.
An 81-year-old Buderim woman was struck by the vehicle as she was about to cross Townsend Street at the pedestrian crossing.
She was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle, described as an early 2000’s silver Toyota Corolla hatchback with a black stripe along the side, continued travelling in an easterly direction before making a u-turn, stopping briefly at the scene, and leaving in a westerly direction.
Police are appealing to the driver of the vehicle to come forward.
FCU Investigators are also appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has vision of the area around the time of the incident to contact police.
Investigations are ongoing.
