HSF advises Eurazeo on its investment in Etix, an operator of data centers in regional locations

International leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills advised Eurazeo, a major player in asset management on private markets, on its investment in regional data center provider Etix Everywhere, through the Eurazeo Transition Infrastructure Fund.

Etix is an established French company operating a network of edge data centers in regional locations, providing colocation services to its customers and engaged on a sustainable trajectory, having joined the Climate Neutral Data Center Pact.

Through its investment, Eurazeo will aim to address the challenge of incorporating sustainability considerations into the construction and operation of data centers. Eurazeo intends to support Etix in achieving its environmental objectives, notably by securing carbon-free energy supplies. Eurazeo’s investment will also be used to support the company’s development whether organically or through bolt-on acquisitions.

This investment is the fourth made by Eurazeo’s infrastructure team and the first in the digital space. It is in-line with its mandate to invest in the energy and digital transition and contribute to a low-cardon and sustainable economy.

Herbert Smith Freehills advised Eurazeo with a team led by Edouard Thomas, partner, and composed of Noémie Laurin, Of Counsel, and Arthur Belmer, associate, on corporate aspects; Régis Oréal, partner, Joëlle Chetrit, senior associate, on financing matters; Anne Petitjean, partner, Maël Le Cardinal, associate, on real estate aspects; Bruno Knadjian, partner, Sylvain Piémont, associate, on tax matters; Sophie Brézin, partner, Elisabeth Debrégeas, Of Counsel, on employment law aspects; and Thomas Herman, Of Counsel, Adil Kourtih, and Anna Zoumenou, associates, on project aspects.
