Human remains found at Port Macdonnell, South Australia

Police are investigating the discovery of human remains found at Port Macdonnell in the state’s south-east today.

Just before 1.30pm on Tuesday 26 January police were called to a beach area off of Finger Point Road at Port Macdonnell after a member of the public located human remains.

Limestone Coast police have attended the scene along with Detectives and forensic examiners to determine the identity of the person.

Forensic examination of the remains will take some time to complete.

Police will investigate whether the remains belong to a 32-year-old Victorian man who went missing while snorkelling in the waters off Port Macdonnell last Thursday.

The man’s family has been advised of the discovery.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
