Imitation firearm seized and man charged in Shepparton

Police have charged a man after seizing an imitation firearm and drugs in Shepparton overnight.

Police responded after being informed a man pointed an alleged firearm at the victim whilst driving in a silver Holden Commodore near the intersection of Fryers and Wyndham Streets about 12.30am.

Officers spotted the vehicle on High Street a short time later and spoke to the 19-year-old man.

An alleged imitation firearm and drugs were found in his possession.

He was arrested at the scene.

The Shepparton man was charged with prohibited person possess immitiation firearm, possess imitation firearm, possess methylamphetamine and bail offences.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on today.
