Infant assault charge at Mackay

Police have charged a man with grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence) following an incident involving an infant in Mackay.

It will be alleged a 7-week old baby presented to a hospital in Moranbah with significant injuries on Tuesday, September 5.

Police attended and commenced investigations into the circumstances of the child’s injuries.

A 23-year-old Moranbah man was arrested in relation to the investigation on Wednesday, September 6.

He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence).

He is expected to appear at Moranbah Magistrates Court today, Thursday, September 7.
