Bass Coast Shire Council is about to get to work on several exciting projects in Inverloch.
The projects include road and kerb renewal works along Golf Street, between Freda Street and Sandymount Avenue and the design and installation of a new shelter at the Wallace Avenue Park.
Work has also recently started on the construction of a new footpath along Powlett Street, which is expected to be completed by mid-November.
The Golf Street project will see the replacement of approximately 270 metres of kerb and channel on the south side, as well as the installation of approximately 72 metres of new underground stormwater drainage on the north side.
Other work being done as part of this project includes the reconstruction of a section of failed road pavement including asphalt overlay, as well as line-marking.
This $104,000 project is being carried out as a part of Council’s adopted 2020-21 Capital Works Program. The project will get underway from 7 September and is expected to be completed within four weeks, subject to contractor availability and weather conditions.
The design and installation of a new shelterat the Wallace Avenue Park will get underway this month and is expected to be completed by the end of October. The project will provide shelter over the existing picnic table at the Park.
This $42,600 project is being partly funded by a $35,916 grant, obtained by Council through the State Government’s Community Shade Grants Program, with the remaining $6,665 coming from the Wallace Avenue Community Park Group.
There will be some short term disruptions to the parks access during the shelter works and appropriate pedestrian control measures will be implemented onsite.
