A man has been charged with fraud-related offences alleged to have occurred in the state’s Central West last month.
On Friday 22 November 2019, a woman misplaced her bank card while shopping on Dalton Street at Orange.
It is alleged a man and woman, aged 49 and 45, located the bank card and used it on five occasions to purchase items from various stores in Orange.
Officers attached to Central West Police District were notified and commenced inquiries.
At 9.30am yesterday (Thursday 19 December 2019), police executed a search warrant at a home on Algona Crescent at Orange.
Police located and seized clothing and property suspected of being proceeds of crime, including power tools, ammunition, 4WD and camping equipment and a bicycle.
The man was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with larceny, unauthorised possession of ammunition, receiving and obtain benefit by deception.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Orange Local Court on Monday 10 February 2019.
Investigations continue.
Police encourage members of the public to ensure the safe keeping of valuable items on your person, including not leaving wallets, purses or handbags unattended in shopping trolleys or out of sight.
