It is understood the truck, which was towing a low loader trailer, became stuck on the rail crossing at the intersection of the Station Street and Corio Quay Road when the incident occurred at around 12.15pm.
The death is the 61st confirmed workplace fatality for 2023. There were 71 work-related deaths at the same time last year.
