Investigations underway after group flee stolen vehicle after crash, NSW

An investigation is underway into a multi-vehicle crash following a pursuit in Sydney’s west today.

About 4.40am (Wednesday 11 January 2023), officers from the Dog Unit were conducting proactive patrols of the Wentworthville area and surrounds, when they attempted to stop a white Range Rover on Wentworth Avenue.

When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

A short time later, the Range Rover crashed into a vehicle on Dunmore Street and failed to stop again. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The Range Rover then crashed into multiple unoccupied parked cars and a trailer, causing one of the vehicles to crashed into the front fence of a building nearby.

The occupants exited the Range Rover and fled the scene on foot.

A search of the surrounding area commenced with assistance from Parramatta Police Area Command; however, the occupants could not be located.

A crime scene was established by officers from Cumberland Police Area Command, and investigation into the incident commenced.

Initial inquiries reveal the Range Rover was stolen from a home in Granville earlier that evening.
