JACET Charges – Victoria River Region

The Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) have charged a man with child exploitation offences in a remote Victoria River Region community.

A search warrant was conducted on a residence within the community yesterday, with a mobile phone containing child abuse material seized for analysis.

A 43-year-old man was arrested at the residence and has since been charged with Possess or Control Child Abuse Material. He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local on Wednesday 27 December 2023.

Senior Sergeant Wade Jeremiah said “To view, possess or create child abuse material is a reprehensible crime and anyone who is involved in this offending should be aware that you will eventually be caught.”
