Joss Constructions wins contract to upgrade health centre at Puckapunyal

Australian Defence Force members will benefit from a new health centre to be built at the Puckapunyal Military Area, as part of a $212.5 million national investment in defence health facilities.

Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Melissa Price MP today announced Joss Constructions Pty Ltd had secured the $16.7 million contract with Defence and said work would get underway within weeks.

“The construction of the new health care facility will ensure the Australian Defence Force is able to provide quality health services for its personnel,” Minister Price said.

“The facility will include primary care including mental health and rehabilitation, inpatient unit, pharmacy, physiotherapy, dental, general support, external works and range response.”

Under the Morrison Government’s Defence Policy for Industry Participation, Joss Constructions will maximise opportunities for local businesses to supply goods or services for the work at Puckapunyal.

“Joss Constructions has committed to using local businesses for at least 93 per cent of its sub-contract work, which is great news for the local community,” Minister Price said.

Construction of the new health care facilities at Puckapunyal Military Area is scheduled to commence in late 2019 with completion anticipated by late 2020.
