The Allan Government’s upcoming State Budget is set to make savage cuts across a range of projects, while others face indefinite delays, due to Labor’s inability to manage money.
Despite Labor introducing or increasing 53 taxes and charges since coming to office, by 2027 Victorians will pay around $24 million every day just to service the interest on Labor’s debt.
As a result, Victorians will pay the price for Labor’s financial mismanagement as a range of election commitments are set to be broken.
ShadowTreasurer, Brad Rowswell, said: “Labor can’t manage money, can’t manage projects and communities across the state are paying the price.
“The cuts and delays to much needed transport, health, education and community safety projects across the state are the real-world consequences of Labor’s financial mismanagement.”
Shadow Minister for Transport Infrastructure, David Southwick, said: “Under Labor, residents in Donnybrook can’t get a footpath to the station but $200 billion can be spent on a new train line in Melbourne’s southeast.
“By putting all its eggs in one basket, communities Melbourne’s north, west and outer southeast and regional Victoria are being denied the basic road, rail and transport infrastructure they deserve.”
