  • Braddon Labor MPs Anita Dow and Shane Broad have urged residents in their North West community to remain vigilant and follow the rules to protect themselves, those they love and their communities during the region’s COVID-19 outbreak.

“This outbreak in our community is of great concern and we must do all we can to contain it,” Ms Dow said.

“We support Peter Gutwein’s call for North West community leaders to help spread the message and ensure people stay home wherever possible.

“This means only going out for essential services and supplies and following social distancing guidelines at all times.

“People must also heed warnings not to go their shacks during the Easter break or anywhere else that they don’t need to be.”

Dr Broad said people should not be complacent about the risks in the North West community.

“The rules are very clear and we need to make sure these rules are followed,” Dr Broad said.

“We are all working together to minimise the risk of transmission and keep the community safe. But we can only do that if everyone continues to do their bit.

“We urge all community members to stay home, stay safe and do all we can to keep out community safe from this deadly virus.”
