Restrictions

The State Government has announced changes to restrictions effective from 6pm Friday 29th October, as Victoria reaches its 80 percent double dose vaccination target.

For residents of Metropolitan Melbourne (which includes the entire City of Whittlesea LGA) this means Regional Victoria and Metro Melbourne will have same freedoms.

  • People from Melbourne can travel to regional Victoria and interstate
  • All retail will open
  • Most indoor settings, including restaurants, pubs, gyms and hairdressers will open with no caps, subject to density limits if all staff and patrons are fully vaccinated
  • Most outdoor settings will remain at a density limit of 1 per 2sqm up to 500, where staff and patrons are fully vaccinated
  • Indoor and outdoor entertainment venues will reopen with density limits
  • Masks will remain mandatory indoors but are no longer required outdoors
  • All children will return to school.
  • Early Childhood education and care is open.
  • Hair, beauty and personal care will open to fully vaccinated people
