Liberals drop energy policy

Tasmanian Labor

The
Rockliff-Ferguson Government now officially has no energy policy.

Without
consultation with industry or households, it has walked away from its plan to
de-link Tasmania from the National Electricity Market (NEM) while the market is
facing a crisis.

This
was their signature policy to reduce prices. It was strongly supported
and driven by industry.

The
entire point of the policy was to protect Tasmania from the kind of price
shocks that are now hitting the National Electricity Market.

Instead
of de-linking, the Rockliff-Ferguson Government is embracing a market that
faces a crisis.

This shows the chaos that has engulfed the government this year is now affecting policy and therefore Tasmanians.
