Library welcomes fully vaccinated

The doors of Swan Hill Regional Library are open and from Saturday, 30 October 2021 staff will begin checking the vaccination status of their visitors.

Libraries Manager, Camille Cullinan said in line with the Chief Health Officers directions the library would be open for fully vaccinated residents only, from Saturday, 30 October 2021 to browse, borrow and spend time.

“It has been so wonderful to reopen the doors and greet our book loving community once again.

“It is now the time when we are required to follow the direction of the Chief Health Officer and begin checking the vaccination status of our visitors,” Ms Cullinan said.

Ms Cullinan said that while people with proof of their vaccination status would be able to enter the library, staff would be available to help those who required assistance to get proof of their status.

“Library staff are on hand to provide assistance to those that may be experiencing difficulties accessing their vaccination status, we know this can be tricky for some people who are not use to using computers and other forms of technology,” she said.

“We will also be looking to implement a click and collect service for borrowing items and collecting printing, for those unable to show proof of vaccination,” Ms Cullinan added.

Ms Cullinan stated that Move and Groove sessions will continue outdoors for a while longer and attendance numbers will increase. Vaccination status will be required from all attendees over the age of 16 years.

Ms Cullinan said that changes will apply to all branches of the Swan Hill Regional Library including the mobile library and the Robinvale Learning and Community Hub.
