A pre-employment training opportunity for people who are interested in building their skills in the dairy industry has been developed through a partnership between TAFE NSW, Dairy NSW, and Kempsey Shire Council.
Designed to meet employer needs for entry level support staff, this will be a practical, hands-on program, which will help participants grow their skills, develop confidence, and create interest in Dairy Farming as a possible career option.
The program, held on a local farm, will teach participants how to rear newborn and young livestock, handle livestock, milk cows, and instruct on farm health and safety.
Enrolment for the program closes on 12 February before a start date of 19 February. Participants must be 15 or older, and be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or humanitarian visa holder.
